11. Trenery & Sons

The building next door to the Railway Tavern was Trenery & Sons Timber Merchants (1887-1976) who also had offices in Market Harborough and Boston. You can still see the company name inscribed over the doorway. The timber yards behind the office were quite extensive and went all the way down to the river. Now housing development – but the name ‘Saw Mills Court’ acknowledges this history.
